Interwoven Perspectives
Emily Adams & William Carroll
Initiated during the "Sideways" artists’ residency to fit William’s mandate of collaborating with other artists, our goal was to create individual aerial surveys of unique pocket universes.
Creating beauty from decay, contrasting traditional still life while deterring away from traditional fine art forms and historical renderings of this subject matter.
Using traditional embroidery methods, we challenge aspects of labour and domesticity associated with craft, a realm of artistic expression usually associated with the practical and functional. By subverting this and associating this medium with the topic of decay, embroidery and photography take on new meaning together.
Interwoven Perspectives is an ongoing collaboration.
