Series Overview/Methodology
These scans were performed at a studio open house with the purpose of showing an alternative photography method. I used a mix of materials from previous scans as well as new materials to create this iteration of the series.
Scan 52-54 (Burgundy/Green)
Using the bag of flour, water, and baby oil from my first series of scans, I added food dye to create the subject of the first two scans in this run. The scanning environment needs to be dark and to replicate this environment, I used a bedsheet to cover the scanner, creating the background and some of the content of the images in this series.

Scan 55-57 (Bedsheet)
Using a bedsheet I first did a basic scan to see how the material would look. Next, I performed scans where I moved the bedsheet around the scan plate.

Scan 58-59 (Bedsheet)
I placed plastic wrap, water and drops of food dye directly on the scan plate, closed the lid, and performed the scan. Scan 58 was taken while the dye was dispersing in the water, while Scan 59 was taken after the dispersion of the dye.

Final Thoughts
Although scanning in a public space was a fun experiment, if I were to do this again, I would prepare better by creating a plan for scanning in a sub-optimal environment and choosing materials that would benefit from the unique light level and environment.
